MUSIC PHILOSOPHY

LESSON
COMPONENTS
1. Opening Activities:
"Hello Children!"
Opening activities can vary from day to day but students will always be greeted with a "Sol-Mi" pattern as a way to enter the Mountaineer Camp.
4. Mountain Top:
Producing/Performing (PR)
This is a part of the lesson where all the actions happen: singing, dancing, playing instruments, or even musical games at times. It is a time where students share what they've learned from the "Hike of the Day".

2. Questions of the Day: "Can I...?"
Student learning objectives for the day are written in "Can I..." format prior to instruction and "I Can..." after instruction.
5. Hang Gliding:
Responding/Reflecting (RE)
Hang Gliding is a time where students have the opportunity to apply, extend, and relate what they've learned from the "Mountain Top" to their personal experiences.

3. Hike of the Day:
Creating (CE)
This is the first part of the lesson where students are introduced to and are given the opportunity to explore the learning concepts through various means.

Closure Activities:
"Goodbye Children!"
Ending activities may vary. However, students will always be greeted with a "Sol-Mi" pattern before leaving the Mountain Camp.
