Grade 3 SUB DAY LESSON

HELLO CHILDREN!

I'm sorry that I had to miss our music class today. Please help Ms. Lo shows off the awesome school spirit today by working hard and putting our M-U-S-I-C classroom expectations into practice. Be safe, be polite, be cooperative, be responsible, and be kind. I look forward to being back soon!

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING TODAY?

We are learning about the Chinese Lunar New Year in music class today. Remember, this was originally assigned to you as your SNOW DAY workshop. Since most of us did not complete it, we will do it in class individually today.

HOW ARE WE GOING TO LEARN TODAY?

We will be learning directly from the videos Ms. Lo prepared. We will put our headphones on so we can listen and follow the directions. We need to focus and move fast so we can complete all the tasks assigned today!

WHAT WILL WE BE DOING TODAY?

  • We will hear some stories about the Lunar New Year and its traditions.

  • We will practice clapping and saying the rhythm patterns that we see in the videos.

  • We will follow the videos and our substitute teacher's directions to create all the crafts Ms. Lo prepared.

  • We will pick ONE dancing video to complete by ourselves.

WHAT DO WE NEED TODAY?

  • We will need our musical brains, iPads, headphones, scissors, gluesticks, pencils, markers, crayons, or colored pencils. 

  • We need to MARK OUR NAMES on all the crafts and worksheets we made.

WHAT IF I ALREADY DONE THE LESSON?

Please join us again since you will be making the crafts at school, AND you have to turn in your crafts before the class ends. There are rhythm worksheets for everyone to complete, and this is new to everyone.

DO WE NEED TO TURN IN ANYTHING TO MS. LO TODAY?

We HAVE TO 1)  finish making our crafts, 2) complete any worksheets given in today's lesson, and 3) our substitute teacher will collect all of our work to leave it in the music room for Ms. Lo. If I don't turn in my work from today's lesson, I will be marked ABSENT and receive a zero for the week.

I AM READY TO START LEARNING, WHAT DO I DO?

  1. Plug your headphones into your iPad.

  2. Open your iPad and go to CLEVER to find Ms. Lo's page.

  3. Click on the hot air balloon picture to go to WWW.HELLOMSLO.COM

  4. Find My Class on the menu and select SNOW DAY in the drop-down menu.

  5. Start and STAY FOCUSED (If you talk to others, you won't be able to finish our Snow Day workshop in time!)
